RCSA Partners with United Way of Nashville and BJs Wholesale to Renovate Fields

In the heart of Robertson County, a remarkable story unfolds — a story of community spirit and determination. What started as an idea led to an inspiring journey of how our neighbors came together to rejuvenate a community staple, igniting hope and opportunity for the next generation.

The Bransford area of Springfield has been a part of the community for over half a century. Years and years have passed, and the once community gathering place has suffered from aging, weathering and vandalism.

“The conduit to this project stemmed from the Robertson County Flag Football League bringing the 14-year-old team to the field for an exhibition game. Many local Bransford alumni were there expressing how great it was to see kids playing on the field again. Seeing how well that game went, and the response of attendees and players, sparked the idea of making Bransford our home,” said Randall Alexander, RCFFL President.

With the help of United Way of Greater Nashville and Hands On, a We Are Here Community Day of Action was set up on February 20, 2024, to support the initiative.

Sponsors, community partners and volunteers converged with a common goal: to breathe new life into a cherished space for their youth, and by the end of the day, kids were playing in a flag football scrimmage. The field and court are now playable for the spring season, and RCFFL will use fields located at the Bransford Community Center as their home field.

This is not about picking up litter or grooming a field; it is a testament to the transformative power of community.
